If you have never heard of Antonio Escalante or Micky Roman, don’t worry, many people outside of the El Paso Texas - Juarez Mexico border region haven’t either. However this Friday, fight fans everywhere were able to see their talents displayed on ESPN. If you missed it, check out the videos below.
The fight itself turned out to be a mini version of Barrera vs. Morales I. Read on for more….
Manny Pacquiao ran roughshod through four different sparring partners earlier this week, and boxing's pound-for-pound king plans to churn through just as many on Saturday.
He's been peppering the speed bag, pounding the heavy bag and doing enough running to make Usain Bolt fall over in a heap. Under the watchful eye of trainer Freddie Roach, Pacquiao is putting himself in position to knock out Joshua Clottey when they fight March 13 in Dallas. Read on for more...
By Manny V. - 1. Pacquiao vs. Clottey is on track to sell 45,000 tickets according to a quote Bob Arum told ESPN. However the question is, will it earn more revenue than Mayweather vs. Mosley? My guess is not even close. When Mayweather starts to sell his fight on HBO’s 24/7 the tickets will go through the roof. This is important because Mayweather has said that he will not accept a 50-50 split with Pacquiao in the future if his fight outsells Pacquiao-Clottey.
2. If you can’t make it to Dallas, the tickets for Chris Arreola vs. Tomasz Adamek go on sale tomorrow on ticketmaster. The fight takes place April 24th in Ontario CA. My early pick in this fight is Adamek . I like Arreola, he brings lots of excitement but I have to question his dedication to the sport. I was pulling for him to beat Klitschko but he was simply out classed despite putting on a gutsy performance. Since then, Arreola gained close to twenty five pounds and blamed it on the restaurant down the street. On the other hand, Adamek seems to be on a roll after his win against Andrew Golata. Either way, it should be a great fight. Read on for more...
Joshua Clottey is on a collision course with the worlds number one fighter, Manny Pacquiao, on March 13. He talked to AOL about how he plans to fight Pacquiao and win the fight. What is most revealing in this interview is his sky high confidence. According to him, he feels like he never lost a fight and plans to treat Pacquiao like just another fighter.
Clottey said, "I've never left the ring feeling like I lost. I feel like I'm undefeated. If I win this fight against Manny Pacquiao, I will never feel like I beat the best fighter in the world. I will feel like I had a fight with Manny Pacquiao, the best fighter out there, and I won. So even if I beat Pacquaio, and people talk about it like it's a big upset, I'll say, 'It's not an upset, but a win.” Read on for more…
By Manny V. - 1. Antonio Margarito’s return will not happen on the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey undercard as previously speculated because he will not be reinstated in time for the fight. However its possible that he fights on May 8th in a Mexico PPV event. At that point if everything goes well, there have been preliminary plans for an eventual showdown in November with none other than the “Mexicutioner” Manny Pacquiao.
2. Manny Pacquiao has gone head to head with many Mexican fighters, and can now say he was face to face with “El Gran Campeon Mexicano” Julio Cesar Chavez himself….read on for more…
