Olympic gold medalist Andre Ward (16-0, 11 KOs) scored an impressive eighth round TKO over Jerson Ravelo (18-3, 12 KOs ).
 

And it was current League Leader boxerharris86, who predicted this fight with uncanny precision, stating: “It takes Ward some time to feel this one out, but THE S.O.G. takes out Jerson around round 8. Ward is just far too skilled and polished for the sometimes loopy and wide Ravelo. Son Of God by KO

Ravelo was a step up in class and Ward did take a few rounds to settle in and put his punches together. In fact, in between rounds his corner men were pleading for him to use the jab and break down Ravelo.
 

The advice was perfect, and Ward executed as instructed knocking down Ravelo in the ensuing rounds using a lead left hook, right hand combination.  Ravelo barley beat the count only to find himself swamped by Ward prompting the corner to throw in the towel.
