Bounty on Valero: 3 history lessons on why he will get KO'ed
By Jeff Bollinger (schlup) - Every KO
artist south of 135 has been bombed out by some new young gunslinger riding
into town, and Valero 25-0 with 25 KO's won't be any exception. It's just
a matter of time. If you live by the gun, you die by the gun. That's the law of
the West, and in the boxing world, if you live by the KO you will eventually
get KO'd. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. History has a funny way of repeating
itself. Read on for more...
1. Alfonzo
Zamora went 29-0 with 29 KO's before being KO'd in the 4th by Carlos Zarate,
who was sporting a 45-0 record with 44 KO's himself.
Zamora went on to lose 4 of his last 8 fights
after the demolition he took from Zarate.
2. Zarate
was an unbelievable 52-0 with 51 KO's before being pummeled by a young Wilfredo
Gomez in 5, whose record was 21-0-1 with 21 KO's. Zarate went on to finish his
career with an impressive 66-4 record and an astounding 63 KO's.
3. Wilfredo
Gomez had a record of 32-0-1 with 32 KO's before he had the misfortune of
tangling with the late Salvador Sanchez.
It's
physics. The best defense isn't always a good offense. You need a little of
both.
Of course
time will tell, but there are a few big punching lightweights out there, salivating
into their soup right now just waiting to be the one to pants the bully with
the big punch.
It might
have been Prescot, but Valero declined the offer. Valero's game plan is to take
on only the biggest fights right now, and he'd better. He'd better make his
money while the iron is hot, because another Johnnie Ringo could be riding into
town.

Great stuff. Zamora was a great banger. He was just unlucky to have to run into a genuine all time great fighter like Zarate...who himself was unlucky to run into another great in Gomez..who was unlucky to run into another great in Sanchez. They were heady days fellas! Im not sure if Valero is as great a puncher as Zamora was.But I am pretty sure that there aren`t many Gomez`s or Sanchez`s out there. We do have Manny though.....maybe he`s destined to be his huckleberry!
I don't think that Edwin Valero will stay for his reigning status right now.In the light weight division there are more possible opponent who can make him dethrone into his status in the boxing arena. One more attraction for him was Juan "the Baby bull Diaz",the mexican sensation and current no.2 P4P and undisputed in the light weight division Juan Manuel Marquez, the "Great" Michael Katsidis, who was currently the WBO Asia Pacific Lightweight champion. There's a lot more champions in Lightweight division to see in action. With this, I think Edwin Valero would probably gets his eyes on each of this future opponents to prove that he is the best of all the best fighter in the world.
