by boxerharris86 boxerharris86 - Pacquaio vs Margarito?

It could happen. Freddie Roach has stated that Manny Pacquiao believes he could out box the bigger welterweight champion. We all know that Manny’s next big match up is against Hatton, but who knows if Floyd will really come out of retirement to engage the Pac Man? If Margarito can beat Mosley, and Pac defeats Ricky Hatton, it certainly is possible because both sides sound like they want the fight, and guess what? Bob Arum has both…

Headhunting

It seems that with Vitali Klitschko signing to defend his WBC strap against mandatory Juan Carlos Gomez in March, the younger Klitschko might go after his “Headhunter” David Haye. Wladimir was in talks to lock horns with the rugged Chris Aerrola, but now talks have shifted to the “Haymaker”. Wladimir is free to make a voluntary defense of his IBF title because a match up with Povetkin won’t take place until September. Lets see how this one pans out. A match up 6 years in the making…

Big Boy Circuit

Arguably the two best athletes to ever grace our sport, Evander Holyfield and Roy Jones Jr are in talks of a proposed heavyweight battle. This wouldn’t be the first time talks have come up for the two, following Roy Jones dominate victory over John Ruiz 6 years ago, “The Real Deal” was supposed to be next in line. However, both of the fighter’s egos got involved and both believed that each should get the lion’s share of the purse. Now that both men are 40 years old, and both are at the tail end of their respective careers, maybe now they can settle their differences. The fight of course would take place at heavyweight, and would mark the return of Roy Jones to the big boy circuit, the last place he showed “Greatness”.

Coming to America

After many years of defending his crown in Indonesia, “The Dragon” Chris John will make his long awaited U.S. debut. The fight will take place on the undercard of the February 28 HBO Championship Boxing card that features Juan Manuel Marquez vs Juan Diaz. Chris John will be defending his WBA featherweight title against Texas native Rocky Juarez. If Marquez and John were to be victorious, we could see a rematch of John’s highly controversial win over J.M.M.

Who wants a crack at Sergio?

Undefeated junior middleweight Joe Green has been forced to pull out of his match up with Sergio Martinez due to kidney stones. Travis Simms, Anthony Thompson, and Ishe Smith have been mentioned to take the fight even though its less then 2 weeks away. It seems like every time Martinez gets a chance to prove he’s grown to become a much better fighter then when he fought Margarito 8 years ago, something comes up to ruin that chance.

Gold medal vs Bronze medal?

With the hype around Jermain Taylor fighting Carl Froch killing off, Andre Ward is now in the mix. Dan Goosen has stated that he has talked to Lou Dibella and the two have verbally agreed to terms regarding the two Olympic medalists. Andre took home America’s only gold in 2004, and Jermain took home the bronze in 2000.

“The Hitter” vs “Alexander The Great”

With WBC champion Timothy Bradley looking to unify with Kendall Holt on April 4th, Junior Witter and Devon Alexander will be squaring off for the WBC “Interim” title in March. The 2009 year of boxing kicks off with ESPN Friday Night Fights tomorrow night. The first card will feature Cuban standouts Yuriorkis Gamboa and Odlanier Solis. So get your lazy boy ready, chill the beer, and invite the guys over for the kick off of boxing in 2009!

Thanks for the Article Boxerharris86, you do it so big man.
Klitschko vs. Gomez is gonna be a good fight and I see Klitschko winning via UD. I think gomez takes a beating this fight he just gets hit to much in all his fight what makes you think Big K won't blast him a couple of times. But his leg movement gives him the avility to survive the 12 rounds.

Yonger K should beat Haye but don't count Haye out on this one. We all know that Young K sometimes gets stupid in there and gets caught. It wouldn't suprise me Haye KO's young K in a vicious way. If young K just picks at him and breaks him down he can win the fight easily lets just hope he doesn't get hit by one of those hayemakers.

Holyfield vs. Jones
Are you fuckin kidding me man!!! This is a joke of a fight. I'd rather see Jones vs. Toney in there than Holyfield. Come on man.

Ok I live in Houston and I can't wait for the tickets to go on sale for the Diaz vs. Marquez fight. They just had the press conference yesterday and it was awesome. Now my predictions on this fight are the following.

Marquez vs. Diaz - even though I'm from Houston and I love Diaz I just think he's made for Marquez. I actually see the fight going 6-8 rounds before Marquez picks Diaz appart. Marquez is just a masterfull technician. I have Marquez by KO in the 8th round. Marquez will leave Houston beaten both Diaz and Juarez.

John vs. Juarez
OK it's simple Juarez needs to just lets his hands go early man. He just waits to long and counts on that left hook to much. John is good but he's beatable. I see Juarez coming out strong and hurting John early. I think he know's that it's his last chance at a championship and hell come out looking for the ko. I got Juarez via 5 round ko.

I wanna see S. Martinez vs. T. Simms and if it happens I see Simms KOing Martinez.

Bradley vs. Holt. I got Holt on this one. I love the way he fights.

i got a little something for you fellas!! since "mean joe green" opted out of the fight vs. "maravilla", the fight was proposed to Daniel Santos! with only 2 weeks left for preparation, Santos understandibly denied! however they have pursued the negotiations and have moved the sergio martinez fight to the feb. 14th card which includes perro angulo vs. marlboro man mayorga, and cambell vs. funeka! Martinez has already agreed to and they have offered the fight again to Daniel Santos!! that my fellow boxing peers is a card!!

as for Juarez vs. John....its Rocky's time baby! put him on his ass doggie!!

Bad Intentions over Ward!!

im not stating anything on the Marquez vs Diaz yet!
i may go underdog here....AGAIN!!!

Back on the actual subject of things
Pac-man should stay in his own weight class. Don't get to big for your britches. Margarito is not De La Hoya! Margarito would win this in fashion!

Jones & Holyfield? Why would Jones do this? Is he desperate for a win? I know it may be a good payout but I think he could do better! What happened with Valuev? No rematch?
