training time in Florida. This according to reports infuriated Evangelista with him saying “Here, I am the Boss.”  He then indicated that he’s not going to train him.

 

That’s when the fight began, in the gym in front of the youth training at the gym.  After being separated, the two got outside the gym and again began to throw more blows.
After some moments things calmed down and the two hugged each other….

Minutes later, Miguel began to drive off in his new 2009 Jaguar when Evangelista got up and broke Miguel’s window with a brick.
The police were called and Evangelista was taken to the hospital for the blows he received from Miguel. 

Miguel had this to say:

 

”This afternoon, after concluding my training session for my next fight, I was involved in an incident with my uncle, Evangelista Cotto,” the 28-year-old Puerto Rican explained in a statement released to El Nuevo Dia newspaper.

”This is a family and very personal matter, which is why I ask that you give me the space and respect in my intimacy needed to cope with situation."
 

“From this day forward, Evangelista Cotto is no longer part of my corner, but I will continue to work hard on my next fight in June, when I defend my title with pride for all PuertoRicans.”
