Vic Darchinyan vs Jorge Arce results

In what started out as a highly anticipated fight turned out to be a one sided affair.  Arce made it a fight early on but simply couldn't figure out Darchinyan's style.  Read on to see who might be able to take on Darchinyan next and see how we scored the fight round by round.  Let us know your thoughts!

 

Round 1 – Darchinyan races across the ring to start the fight.  It’s a minute into the fight and both fighters are a bit tentative.  Arce begins to come forward leading with left hook right hand combos.  Arce appears to lunge in trying to land.  Darchinyan lands a counter left uppercut right on the button.  Arce momentarily stops his attack after the uppercut and Darchinyan lands a big straight left followed by another straight left.  Arce is cut over the right eye.  Darchinyan wins the round.

Round 2 – A straight left hand landed for Darchinyan thirty seconds into the round. Arce looks a bit jittery and unsteady already.  Arce appears confused, and is still feeling out Vic trying to figure out his style. Arce attempts a right hand but falls short of the target.  Arce missing with several attempted punches.  Darchinyan lands multiple punches while Arce backs into the corner. Round goes to Darchinyan.

Round 3 – Arce still lunging forward attempting to land.  Darchinyan using the jab effectively.  Big left hook lands by Arce followed by a right.  Arce turning the fight into a brawl.  Big left hand lands by Darchinyan from the outside.  Both fighters brawl it out in the center of the ring.  Vic is cut over the right eye.  Round goes to Arce.

Round 4 – Round four stars slow but picks up with a big left by Arce.  Vic attempts to counter but falls short.  Both fighters get tangled up several times in the round. Big right hand lads for Arce with a minute left.   Vic sets up a big uppercut which sends Arce back.  Arce looks off balance the second half of the round as Darchinyan landed several big uppercuts. Round goes to Darchinyan.

Round 5 – Both fighters loading up with big punches. Nothing landed most of the punches were glancing off each others head.  Arce woks the body on the inside with left hooks. Vic dropping his hands bouncing from side to side as Arce leads with a straight right to the body. Big left uppercut lands right before the bell by Darchinyan.  Close round to Arce

Round 6 – Both fighters on the attack with a barrage of punches. Darchinyan punching through the guard of Arce with a straight left.  Arce looks to be tiring as he holds Vic.  Vic bouncing on his toes side to side.  A big right hook lands flush by Vic.  Vic appearing very relaxed in the round.   Darchinyan lets loose with another barrage landing a left hand flush.  Big round for Darchinyan.

Round 7 – Arce coming forward with wide swinging shots.  Darchinyan picking Arce apart from the outside.  Arce still lunging forward with right hands.  Big left uppercuts landing from a very confident Darchinyan.  Round goes to Vic

Round 8 – Vic going to the body with an uppercut and right hook.  Followed up by landing a big upper cut to Arce.  Vic very confident pot-shotting Arce with the jab. The uppercut continues to land flush on Arce.  Many must be wondering what is holding Arce up.  Arce attempting to land the left hook repeatedly but fails.  Big round for Vic.

Round 9 – Round nine starts at a slow pace.  Arce attempting several straight lead right hands but not landing very effectively.  Darchinyan lands a punch behind the ear for Arce which creates a cut in that location.  Big round to Darchinyan.

Round 10 – Vic moving and boxing continuing to pot-shot Arce at will.  Arce seems to be fighting on instinct at this point.  Darchinyan wins the round easy.

Round 11 – Vic batters Arce all around the ring.  Arce attempting to just to survive the round.  At the end of the round the fight is stopped in the corner by the doctor. TKO end of Round 11 Vic Darchinyan wins!

There are plenty of fighters out there willing to figure out Darchinyan's style.  Israel Vazquez, Rafael Marquez, Nonito Donaire, and many more...its going to be a fun ride watching it.
