EXCLUSIVE: Liverpuncher.com sat down with Sugar Shane Mosley’s advisor James Prince to find out first hand if Mosley was set to fight Manny Pacquiao and his thoughts on a Pacquiao fight.
Sal Varela: We are here with James Prince who is now advising Shane Mosley is that right?
James Prince: yeah (nodding…)
Sal Varela: So what is going on with him nowadays? Last I heard he was a free agent is that correct?
James Prince: As free as he needs to be….he’s fine right now. We’re just sitting back enjoying the moment.
Sal Varela: So are you guys looking at any offers on the table?
James Prince: We are just waiting…listening for opportunities to unfold. And if any opportunities present itself, we’re going to embrace it.
Sal Varela: Would you be interested in a fight with Manny Pacquiao?….Hopkins was saying he hasn’t fought any African American fighters, is that an opportunity?
James Prince: Most definitely it would be a great opportunity. I think Hopkins meant that he hasn’t fought a brother with soul. We know Sugar Shane got a lot of soul so…If the opportunity presented itself it would be an amazing fight.
Sal Varela: I think it would be a huge fight….American fighter, name opponent. What did you think of that fight with Margarito and Pacman?
James Prince: I think it was a beautiful fight. Pacquiao is an amazing little guy. I have a lot of respect for little guys. I tip my hat off to him.
Sal Varela: Anything else you want to add?
James Prince: Im just excited for this victory tonight with Andre Ward. I look forward to completing this Super Six tournament and holding our hand up in the end.
Sal Varela: (Andre Ward) was even saying the winner (of the tournament) take on Lucian Bute. You think that might be something that can be done?
James Prince: Definitely. That’s a must happen fight. Eventually that is going to take place.
Sal Varela: I know a lot of fight fans would be happy to hear that. Alright James, thanks for your time.
