Fantasy League Season 4 Starts! E-mail

The first fight of the new Fantasy League Season kicks off May 24th with a great card featuring Ricky Hatton vs Juan Lazcano and Paulie Malignaggi vs. Lovemore N'Dou to be televised on the Versus network.  The polls close at 9 AM the day of the fight so get your predictions in now to be this season’s champion!

Reigning Fantasy League Champion

As we learned from last season, every prediction counts.  With an excellent record of 13 wins, only 3 losses for a total of 277 points Everlast21 came from behind to take the championship last season. You can see a complete recap of last season here: http://www.liverpuncher.com/articles/fantasy-league-champ-named-2.html

What Liverpuncher’s are saying about the fight

Nearly everyone is picking Hatton and Malignaggi to win.  And rumors are swirling that this will lead to a potential showdown later this year in addition to Hatton eyeing a possible rematch with Mayweather.  But before he looks too far down the road, he has to take care of “The Hispanic Causin’ Panic” on May 24th.

The big surprise in the predictions is the wide range in which members are predicting a KO – some think it will be early some late.  It could just be that they are looking for some additional points to pad their fantasy league record, or that Hatton moving down to the natural weight class is going to make a difference. As lukeblaze (Ricky Hatton - Round 8) said, “Hatton goes back to the weight class he can dominate and wins in Hatton fashion.”

The rematch with Malignaggi and N'Dou isn’t exactly what fight fans have been clamoring for.  But if you are Malignaggi’s management team, why risk losing a big payday with Hatton?  Besides, there may have been a rematch clause in the contract.  At any rate, most are predicting a decision win for Malignaggi including perkthepuncher (Paulie Malignaggi – Decision) who said,  “I think Paulie is smart enough to have learned his mistakes and capitalize on his strengths (it's not in the power punches!) and box his way to a unanimous decision.”  Well said.
