Bob Arum calls Pacquiao better than Muhammad Ali. E-mail
In one of Floyd Mayweather’s recent monologues on HBO’s 24/7 he made the bold statement that he is better than Muhammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.  While this hypotheses can obviously never be truly tested, it hasn’t stopped Bob Arum from making an equally bold statement about his fighter, Manny Pacquiao.

In a recent profile of Manny Pacquiao in GQ magazine, Bob Arum was quoted as saying,  "I used to say that Ali was the best I'd ever seen.  I had never said that about another man. I don't use those words cheaply. But here it is: Manny Pacquiao is the best I have ever seen, including Ali. I have never seen the combination of this incredible speed, this crippling punching power, and the concentration he has in the ring. Nobody has. No one has ever moved the way he does. No one has been so equally potent with the right and left hand. If this were baseball, we would be talking about a switch-hitter who bats .400 from both sides of the plate."   Read on for more…

The GQ profile goes on to discuss many unknown aspects of the fighters life and is well worth the read.  You can find it here:  http://www.gq.com/sports/profiles/201004/manny-pacquiao-boxer

This is just a silly thing to talk about. The past is the past and we'll never know for sure about any of this. Pacquiao is great, no doubt about that but if people want to make comparisons that could never be tested- if Pacquiao and Calzaghe were in the same weight range Calzaghe would probably tear him or Mayweather apart. Does that mean we should claim that Joe Calzaghe is the best boxer of all time? All these statements seem ridiculous and irrelevant to anything.

there is a reason manny wont match up with
berto, paul williams, mosley, floyd, bradley. he faces a puncher with all that no defence b.s. and its over. thats why he sets up matches with stiffs and over the hill boxers. if berto wanted a match with manny he should have let quantana knock him out then do two tune up matches then manny would have matched up with him.

And this is the same guy that states that Margo is innocent! lmao. I think opposition was more fierce back then. U try fighting 15rds at 100degrees plus lights.

On a serious note: From that list of socalled wash ups he's beaten them all and in a more devastating way than the self proclaimed "No.1 p4p" mayweather. Another thing is that Manny doesn't call the shots its his manager. I just hope the mayweather/shane vs pacman gets done so we can get a true no1 p4p.

well according to Arum.

Pacquiao is one
Ali is two
and Mayweather is three

Cause he said Mayweather is the best he ever saw other than ALi when Mayweather was his fighter so obviously Arum is high on fighters in his stable.
