Hayemaker is not making waves! E-mail
Blog Alert: by barrykil1980 barrykil1980

Undisputed cruiserweight champion David Haye`s permanent move to heavyweight seems to be going full steam ahead.  Rumour has it he is packing on the muscle to compete against the bigger boys.  We all know that he`s chomping at the bit to get his hands on Wlad Klitchko but the search for his next opponent has thrown up the name JD Chapman.  This guy is supposed to be a twenty-five year old, six foot five colossus with a record of 29 wins without a defeat with a whopping 26 by knockouts. Sounds great......but really... WHO THE HELL IS THIS GUY?

I see most of his wins have been in that boxing Mecca that is Arkansas, fighting in the illustrious surroundings of ballrooms, high school gyms and farmers markets. The only names I recognize on Chapmans record are that of Ray Lunsford and Marcus Rhode but with all respect, this recognition has much more to do with me needing to get out and about a bit more than it has to do with either of these guys fighting ability!

Now I don’t expect Haye to be boxing the genuine dangermen of the division, not yet. Not when he’s just testing the waters so to speak, but David HAD actually promised to be facing a top ten or so ranked heavyweight in his next outing.  Your words David."A ranked heavyweight"........not some corn-fed farm laborer with a record more padded than a cheerleaders bra.

What happened to the proposed match with Hasim Rahman you were telling us about?

Yes, Lennox Lewis was right when he once said that Hasim would always be remembered as "Has-been" Rahman but, at least Has-been had been in there with a name or two in his time.

Maybe I am wrong about JD. Maybe this "good `ol boy" can fight.  But I ask you, who really wants to see any more of these lumbering oafs that they always manage to drag out of America’s mid west?  Haven’t we seen enough of the Tye Fields of this world?

The fact is David Haye can beat a lot of the worlds best big men right now, this minute.
There’s no need to put us through the kind of hype that would undoubtedly try to convince us that this JD guy is some kind of well kept secret.  He`s not. He`s a nobody  .Don’t do it to us David, your better than that!

Last I heard, Chapman was out and Eddie Chambers was ready to sign on the dotted line.

Who the hell is this Chapman guy indeed.

Hopefully it is "Fast Eddie", someone we have seen in there on HBO already...feather fisted, decent fighter, no world beater though. Should be a somewhat decent test.
