K9 Upsets Former Champ Ouma! E-mail

Cornelius Bundrage (28-3, 16 K0s) of "The Contender" fame beat former IBF junior middleweight champion Kassim Ouma (25-5-1, 15 K0s) at the Seneca Allegany Casino & Resort in Salamanca, NY making it the third loss in a row for the former champ.

In the early rounds Bundrage started off fast and it seemed as though Ouma lost all the fire he had in past fights. However, a cut opend up on Bundrage which seemed to ignite Ouma as he came on in the later rounds. A point was taken from Bundrage for excessive holding, which in turn only encouraged the former Contender to pick up the pace of the fight.

It wasn't the sharpest performance and both of these guys could learn a few things about technique by watching a Christian Mijares fight, but Bundrage showed heart and will to outwork Ouma over ten rounds to claim a 96-93, 95-94, 96-93 unanimous decision.

Proved Many People Wrong

In a fight where many thought the former Contender fighter had no chance, he was able to prove them wrong. Only 10% of the predictions cast were in favor of Bundrage. Once again we see that anything can happen in boxing. Congrats to those of you who made the correct predictions.

A big jump in the Fantasy League standings was made by barrykil1980 (8-3 0 KOs 167 points) who jumped to second place in the league. And tmb*sam (3-5 0 KOs 62  points) was able to score some bouns points  by predicting a decision win for K9.

But the season is far from over and we have lots of active members still in the running. Be sure to talk it up in the forums to meet the minimum number of posts to be declared champion.
