Margarito on the Comeback? E-mail

The boxing commission of Tijuana Mexico has given the green light for a return of boxing action for Antonio Margarito.  The rumored opponent is said to be Zab Judah.

Officials in Tijuana indicate that Tijuana is “Margarito’s House” despite his suspension in California in the US.  No date has been mentioned for the fight but Arum has said in the past possibly putting on a show in September.

Arum already put on a show in Tujuana two weekends ago, where 20,000 locals showed up. The Tijuana commission has left its doors open to more fights in the future.  “Tijuana Thunder” was shown in Mexico on TV Azteca which showed Tijuana in a positive light, as it has received lots of negative news due to the ongoing drug violence.

this is some bullshit a boxing ban is a ban everywere he should never be allowed to fight again. how dare the tijuana officials bob arum and margo himself disregard the findings of the csac by not serving out his sentence. its utter bollocks

Hey you taking about Mexico here, they don't follow rule. that's the way it is the way it is down there right now. I love Mexico, but how can they let a guy that just cheated out of his ind and could of hurt the other fighter very seriously and let him fight in Mexico.

Margarito, and Arum are both burning some bridges with this fight in TJ. I doubt if Margarito ever has another superfight in his future. And Arum is going to pay dearly if he wants to hold another PPV in Las Vegas again. The Mayor of that town don't forget people that cross him. The next time we see Arum on TV in Vegas look and see if his wingtips are made out of cement.

shlup is right, this could cost arum more than its worth. margarito should lay low for a while and ask for forgiveness or say "i didn't know" the way shane mosely did when he cheated vs oscar.

Zab Judah? Cement or no cement, Judah would get dropped in 7.

im a margo fan and i would like him to be given permission to fight again! im not an idiot tho, him fighting in Tijuana or anywhere else for that matter is going to jeopardize his chances majorly, to ever fight again in the states! if the appeal goes good, then hold the fight in Tijuana for the people! but he should do everything in his power to get reliscensed! fkn judah's going to get worked!

I respect all the Margarito fans out there as I once was one. I don't agree that he should fight again though. Having POP found in his gloves presents assault with a deadly weapon. Thats a felony regardless if your in the boxing ring or robbing a convenient store. I am behind Judah every step of the way and hope he pulls this one off. (although its going to be tough for him)

As for Arum, he was at the Valero - Pitalua fight in Austin on Saturday and I all I wanted to do was throw a hot dog at him. I could have easily hit him with it since I was about 8ft from the ring. Not sure why he was there since it was a Golden Boy event. (but I guess they work together sometimes) Personally I think he was eye-balling Edwin Valero to see if he can strike a deal with Pac-Mans crew. smilies/smiley.gif
