Skills: Emmanuel Steward trained Kermit Cintron for a bout against Margarito and described Margarito’s skills as severely underrated.  However, when compared to a man with the nickname “Sugar” no one in boxing is sweeter.  Mosely has more raw talent and sheer athleticism than most fighters even at this point of his career.

Edge: Mosley

Power: Highlight knockouts are a thing of beauty.  They both have their fair share of KOs. Margarito typically gets his by accumulative punishment while Mosley can hurt a man in any round.  Sure, Margarito stopped guys like Andrew “Six Heads” Lewis, but Lewis had no chins to go with those heads.  On the other hand, we have seen Mosley stop tough guys like Vargas and Mayorga with one punch.

Edge: Mosley

Speed: “Sugar” Shane isn’t as quick as he used to be, but he is still much faster than the methodical Margarito.  This is a no brainer.

Edge: Mosley

Defense: Margarito’s best defense is his chin.  How many times has he been hit clean and simply smiled at his opponent. Nothing could be scarier than that. Mosley has been known to get hit a bit more at this stage of his career, but still has the movement to avoid the big punches.

Edge: Mosley

Experience: Its hard to say that Margarito is an inexperienced figher.  He came up the hard way and was thrown to the wolves from an early age and has seen it all in the ring.  However, Mosley does have a higher number of championship fights with 19 and Margarito 13.

Edge: Mosley

Chin: Lets not forget that Mosley was almost knocked senseless early by Vernon Forrest and still managed to go 12 rounds.  But is there anyone else who can look Paul Williams in the eye and smile after being hit with Williams best shot?  Well Margarito certainly did that.  Margarito’s chin is already legendary.

Edge: Margarito

Conditioning: Mosley seems to never be out of shape.  The man is a gym rat.  But can he throw 100 punches a round for 12 rounds?  Margarito can do that without thinking twice.

Edge: Margarito

Wear-and-tear: Mosley is no spring chicken.  At 37, he has been through many tough battles and has the scars to prove it.  Margarito is in the prime of his career.  In fact, Margarito has shown steady improvement since his fight with Williams.  Its prime time for Margarito, and Shane has certainly seen better days.

Edge: Margarito

Corner: Mosley used to have his father Jack train him for every fight.  Now he enlisted the talents of Nazim Richardson, of the famed Bernard Hopkins camp.  Hopkins seems only to get better with age, and attributes a lot of that to Richardson’s advice.  Margarito’s main corne rman, Javier Capatillo, is known to be a drill sergeant.  His biggest talent his putting his fighters through hell in camp to make the fights seem easy.  But Capatillo hasn’t proven he can change tactics midway through a fight.

Edge: Mosley

Outcome: From this head to head we see that Mosley has scored the edge in several categories: Skills, Power, Speed, Defense, Experience and Corner.  But this fight may come down to a few simple things: Chin, Conditioning and Wear-and-Tear.  If a fighter simply can’t take what the other guy dishes out, he loses. And at this point in their respective careers, Margarito is able to dish out more.  That’s how he has won all his fights so far.  And that’s most likely what will happen this Saturday.

Prediction: Margarito by unanimous decision

Nice Comparison. Going back to the oposition, Mayorga and Vargas were has beens when he fought them so eventhough it looks nice on paper i dont give as much props as the Tornado's oponents.

Fairly accurate. Shane does not the power to stop Tony. His speed isn't what it once was and he's not all that mobile these days. He will be there for Tony to find. He needs to have his defense in top form or he's in for the same beat down that Cotto got. One thing Shane has going for him. He's got some of the best minds in boxing in his corner to help him get ready. Oscar, Bernard, Marco. They all know this game inside and out. If he properly does his homework and can execute his game plan to perfection he can pull off the win.

this is the first time i see this and this is the ish!! big ups to the almighty of the sites lp.com! mosley beat vargas twice but he's more known for the 2nd fight, when vargas was considered by most...shot! mosley made no excuses to losing to cotto, so what maked him think hes better or can o a better job than cotto did! cotto fought a great fight against margarito, without a doubt! chin should be considered a defensive attribute, because if your getting hit and aint dropping, fuck it, use it to ur advantage!
AND IM A MARGARITO FAN SO TOO FKN BAD SHANE!!

I am a huge Mosley fan and I must admit I am shocked at how this fight ended. This one worried me but in the end he prevailed. To be honest I haven't seen him fight so well since the De La Hoya fights.
