Martinez, Angulo, and Gamboa...WOW! |
|
Blog Alert by dipsta
First’s things first, Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez looked
as sharp as anyone or maybe even better then some of the top dogs in his weight
class! Sharp, strong jabs, good combinations when needed, and he showed enough
pop to drop a few fighters that I can think of, I just wont mention any names
because some of you might eat me alive for saying that!
Alfredo "el perro" Angulo....simply said...what a
string fella for real! the only thing that I did not like was that he didn’t
finish him early enough, or early at all for that matter, however, if you saw
the fight you are one to know that he didn’t start off every round going for
the kill I have to give him credit for that as I see it for the last round KO
preparation as he produced. He conserved himself until the last minute and a
half and then attacked! Unfortunately for Tsurkan, his corner should have
stopped that fight since probably the 7th round! I wish Tsurkan the best in his
recovery!
Yuriorkis Gamboa...the young and definitely upcoming threat
looked bad enough to make him look "that" good! I have to agree with
what Max Kellerman said about him though, he has a few fundamental flaws he
needs to work on! His chin isn't the best and that was proved by him getting
dropped in the first round! Although he did come back and made the round
arguably a 10-9 score! I kept it a 10-8, but like I said, it was arguable! The
light of the night however, in my eyes, was the one to look at! The reason I
say that is because he came back in the second, makes his opponent duke it out
with him and drops him twice to get the victory! Yuriorkis now 12-0, is for
sure going to be someone to look at in the future!
Of the three fights the one that looked best was without a
doubt Sergio " Maravilla"
Martinez!
With one loss which came in February of 2000 to the hands of our one and
only, recently crowned welterweight "SUPER"
champion....ANTONIO "TIJUANA TORNADO" MARGARITO!
