Immediately after Manny beat Miguel Cotto, the fans started chanting “We want Floyd!”

And echoing the drum beat was Bob Arum, “If Floyd Mayweather wants to fight Manny Pacquiao he knows who to call,” he said. 

Ross Greenberg, the head of HBO Sports said “Benjamin Franklin is the most important personality [in the negotiation].  His face, multiplied by 15 million brings people to the table. Each guy needs to look at the big picture and the big picture is a boat load of cash and a fight too important for the sport.”  When  asked if it was smaller  than De La Hoya vs.  Mayweather Greenberg said, shaking his head. “Bigger.” Read on for more...

Mayweather Sr. vs Roach
Mayweather Sr. gave Manny a compliment of sorts when he accused Manny of being on HGH (which is untrue), and said “I’ve been in boxing since I was 15 years old, I’ve never seen anything like it.” He also quickly reminded everyone, “When it’s time for us to fight, I’m going to show you all who the master is,”

To which Roach replied, “Tell him to go [expletive] himself.” Roach also gave an early prediction, “…after seeing Manny with Cotto, Manny showed he takes a punch well. We'll definitely knock Mayweather out.  We will break Mayweather down. He's a fragile guy. I know he is hard to get to but we will get to him. Manny can match Mayweather's speed and he has better footwork and more balls."

Floyd complaining, is Manny under his skin?
In a fight where Mayweather can potentially make $30 million, he still found a way to complain about it.  

He said, "I'm in a no-win situation. If I beat Manny Pacquiao you know what they are going to say? 'You are supposed to beat him, you are Floyd Mayweather, you are the bigger man.' If I knock him out they'll say, 'You're supposed to knock him out [because] he's been knocked out before.' I'm in a no-win situation and when I beat him no one is going to be surprised because he's been beaten before…"

Manny hasn’t said much, in fact that has seemed to have gotten under little Floyd’s skin.  He wants Manny to call him out, and said, “I have yet to hear him actually say, ‘yes I want to fight Mayweather.’ We are the fighters and if one fighter is talking about fighting another fighter, then they should just come out and say it.”

Negotiations
Manny is holding his poker face well, it should bode well in the negotiations.  I can’t wait to see how the money, weight, and even location of the fight is decided.  We will get a better indication of these things when the Pay Per View numbers are released for Pacquiao vs. Cotto.
