Pacquiao Mayweather to use Olympic style Drug Testing?

According to the Grand Rapid Press, one of the conditions to having the mega fight in March is to undergo random Olympic style drug testing prior to March 13th.

Lenard Ellerbe confirmed the report with David Mayo.
“I’m not going to get into that,” Ellerbe said. “But people can read between the lines. Al and I made sure

this will be implemented. It is going to be done.”

He states that this is not going to be just team Pacquiao that will undergo this extra testing, Mayweather will also do the same. They state Team Mayweather is looking out for their fighter.

“Floyd’s got nothing to do with this. It’s our job to protect him and give him the best chance to be successful. Inside the ring, he’s got that. He’ll have no problem with Pacquiao, none whatsoever. Our job is to take care of things outside the ring.”

Steroids and performance enhancing drugs have been used by fighters in the past. The tests used by Nevada for example may not be as strict or sophisticated as those used in the Olympic games.

what they should really do hair follicle testing, then they can see what the fighters have been doing for many proceeding months as well..

even if Pacquiao was doing steroids in the build up to the cotto fight he likely doesn't need to go back to them in the next 3 mths.. for track athletes anyway, they use steroids when they are in the gym building bulk in the off season.. using them in season tends to reduce your quickness and flexibily and is also probably the case for boxers too.

i know WADA has been developing hair follicle testing, and even been taking samples, but i'm pretty sure the test are not being used officially yet.. could be wrong... that might leave some athletes pretty red faced though..
