San Jose’s American Metal and Iron “Fight Night at the Tank” showed off some of the young talents the West Coast has to offer and they did not disappoint with lots of KO’s and Liverpunching action to show for!
Heavyweight Keith Spencer Knock’s opponent out of the Ring!
In heavyweight action last night in San Jose, Theron “the Promise” Johnson (1-1) of Chicago, Ill was nearly knocked out of the ring against late substitute Keith Spencer of Newark NJ (4-0) in 2 heats of action! Lots of holding early on in round one with Spencer pressing the action and Johnson landing on the outside. In the 2nd round Spencer caught Johnson on the ropes, landing a brutal barrage, sending him down at 2:29 in round 2. A huge right hand landed as Johnson was going down, nearly sending him out of the ring. Spencer gets his third pro KO in four outings and took the fight on only 3 days notice. He looks to take care of more business like this real soon.
When asked if he would be ready to cleanup the heavyweight mess he responded, “I’d be kinda arrogant to say something like that but we’ll just take it one day at a time….and there’s a lot of great talent out there. I’ll be back hopefully on the 26th or 27th, they just called me on Monday to take this fight!” He is a heavyweight to keep an eye on.
“I paid my dues, sparring with Lance Whitiker, Jeremy Williams and James Toney learning something from them each and every day!”
Heavyweight Manuel “
El Toro
” Quezada gets another win
In the main event, heavyweight Manuel “el Torro” Quezada 23-4 15KO’s WBC-CABOFE Champ of Wasco, Ca defeated John Clark 12-13-1 via UD as he works his way up to contention. Little action early on in the fight, Quezada mostly stayed the busier fighters using his jab and body work.
