Saul Alvarez To Be On Pacquiao Undercard? E-mail
Top Rank is working on a deal to co-promote Mexican welterweight sensation Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (30-0-1, 22 KOs). If the deal is finalized, his first bout would be televised on the March 13 Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey pay-per-view view card at Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Alvarez, 19, who has been drawing big crowds in Mexico and gaining exposure on Mexican television giant Televisa, would open the telecast. The promotion for the March 13 show, which Top Rank's Bob Arum said will be called "The Event," will kick off in a few days. Pacquiao is due to arrive in Los Angeles from the Philippines Saturday night. Arum added that fight tickets will be priced at $700, $500, $300, $200, $100 and $50.

Well Canelo has had way better opossition than Chavez Jr. and looked much better and he has also had 12 round fights, Chavez Jr. is still a 10 rounder, Canelo's been calling out Chavez for quite some time but the son of the legend is just shiting his pants lol

Puerto Rico and Mexico don't get along, but they respect each other and have the greatest fighters in boxing with the bigest hearts, they don't back down from fights.

It will be interesting to see how full the Dallas stadium will be. It was originally mentioned to bring in a large live gate for Pacquiao/Mayweather, but I'm not sure a Pac/Clottey card will sell it out. Adding Alvarez may be smart to bring in some Latinos.

PR and Mexican fight all the time, but respect each other- get along fine, but you cross them with pilipinos and there is problem. Pilipinos not having the looks of the latins, get jelouse and cause trouble- their only rational way. Even that they are darker complexion, they dye and inject papaya to look ugly white.

They need to beef up MP event with Mexican fighters if they want to see a good outcome, if you don't believe just packed with pinoys and see the disaster.

I personally think Canelo Alvarez still needs to fight for two more years. And if he is taken carefully, he will be able to do it. Not yet. If he is confronted with Chavez Jr. The scenery will be totally diffrent. We just have to wait and see. He has potential.
