Saul "Canelo" Alvarez Defeats Tyner In Impressive Performance

Many in the US may not have seen the 19-year-old welterweight sensation Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez (30-0-1, 22 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico yet, but you soon will. He won a 12 round unanimous decision over tough Lanardo Tyner (21-3, 13 KOs) of Detroit, Michigan to retain his NABF welterweight title before a sold out crowd at el Meson de los Deportes in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.

Many want Alvarez to fight for a title in 2010, however that still might be too soon. He is still only 19 years old, it would be a shame to see him rushed into a fight he is not ready for. Lets see how his handlers manage his up coming fights in 2010.

Canelo is a great young fighter.. I doubt he'll ever get to fight Floyd M. due to his expected retirement. But one things is for sure, Canelo will be a star fighter for years to come.
