"Sugar" in Sugar Shane is Back! E-mail
Blog Alert: by Swodogg swodogg

The “Sugar” in “Sugar Shane” is Back.  We all remember when he was knocking out the likes of John John Molina, Golden Johnson and John Brown back at lightweight.  When he moved up to Welterweight and Light Middleweight, it seemed as though the power had stepped out on vacation.  He somewhat struggled in his first fight at Welterweight with Wilfredo Rivera and boxed Oscar De La Hoyas ears off in their two fights.  Then came the two losses to Winky Wright, which was like trying to box a guy with a cement wall-like defense….nothing was getting through.

But where did the power go?  It showed up on Saturday.

Yes, we all know he was fighting a human punching bag in Ricardo Mayorga, but Shane did what he had to do against a much bigger guy.  Not only did he knock him out but it was with a stunning left hook from his Lightweight days…..with only ONE SECOND LEFT on the clock.  That’s what champs of the old school do.

Should Shane Retire?

Andre Berto has “a belt”.  But does he deserve it?  I was not impressed with his performance on Sat. night and his belt is there for the picking.  Shane wants only the big fights and a fight with Berto would be an easy nights work.  Take a fight with Berto, get the WBC belt and fight Margarito next year in Los Angeles.  L.A would be rockin’!

OR try to persuade Floyd to make a comeback.  I still remember 5 years back on Friday Night Fights, Mayweather and Mosley spoke about fighting each other one day.  Its about time that day has come.

i like the idea homie! however i dont think it would be as easy as you make it seem for him against berto! shane looked good on saturday night, but mayorga is nowhere close to being as fast as berto! that could become a problem! however i do think shane can beat berto, i believe that as much as i do in berto being able to beat shane! i think that rightful heir(?) of that which berto has should be a man that goes by the name of Miguel Cotto! id like to see that lopsided decision! lol!!
good writing work swo! keep it real!

Mayweather can't make any significant money with Mosley, so that fight will never happen. Mosley needs to fight either Margarito or Williams soon because Father Time is catching up quick.

I think Mosley needs to stay away from Margarito right now. Margarito would break him down big time and he would be devestated. I think he should fight Berto or maybe even Zab Judah
