Time for this weeks edition of "The Standing 8" Pacquiao vs Clottey edition.

1. What was the deal with Jim Lampley and his consistent BANG BANG BANG sound effects? What is this, a 1960’s episode of Batman? Blow by blow is fine but leave the color commentary and sound effects to Max Kellerman.
2. All this talk about Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, what about the other man fighting May 1st Sugar ... Click for more!
Shane Mosley? I agree with Richard S. don’t disrespect the guy who has
a legitimate chance against Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao said after the
fight he is open to fighting Shane Mosley. Don’t hold your breath for that showdown as Mayweather reportedly has a rematch clause
with Mosley should he lose.
3. Who knew cowgirl cheerleaders could sing? I mean we see them
dancing on the sidelines, strutting their stuff. But sing our national
anthem? I have to admit it wasn’t that bad.
4. One of HBO’s “keys to victory” for Joshua Clottey stated the
obvious. “Throw Punches.” Apparently however Clottey didn’t get the
memo. Pacquiao did and even threw two at the same time at one point.
5. The undercard, what can I say. Another disappointing show. We were
expecting a lot more but to have Castillo vs. Gomez? One past his
prime the other a life long contender. What happened to the Don King
undercards of the 90’s where we saw flyweights and featherweights
battle it out putting it all on the line?
6. Was it me or was it odd to hear the trainer of Clottey, De Jesus,
being interviewed in the middle of the round? I’ve seen it before on
ESPN2 but not on a major PPV main event. You can’t blame the trainer for
this one as he stated over and over to Clottey to “take a chance” in the corner.
7. Antonio Margarito will make his ring return May 8th reportedly against the ever dangerous TBA in aguas calientes Mexico.
8. Last but not least is a quote by Mike Tyson who wins our humane society award for his new Animal Planet show on pigeons.
“I feel great pride acting as an official representative for all the
pigeon fancier’s out there.. I want people to see why we love these
birds.”
See ya next time on The Standing 8 at Liverpuncher.com and keep them Liverpunches flyin!
I would of rather watched Mike and his pigeons than the event PPV... Bob Arum should be ashamed of himself. Poor Show.. and what was with Lamps!?!? The powers that be most of been in his ear telling him make this more exciting. Pacquiao Clottey was like watching Pac Man work a heavy bag for 12 rounds.
haha...Lamply. I wasn't even paying attention to the fight at that point then I hear him Bam, Bam, Bam Bam. But it was the same chit from the previous rounds!! Props to Pacquiao he did what he had to do., but CLottey, I never want to see him again in a Main Event PPV. He broke apart vs. Margarito, frustrated me in the Cotto fight and was again frustrating to watch vs Pacman.
Lampley's got to go! That was horrible! he was anoying throught the night. About clottey: What kind of fighter would settle for a freaking paycheck! he'll be remembered as a freaking wuss, punching bag, etc.
stop hating on pacman jandro. if he punch u on your elbows he would break your elbows. clottey just did not want to get embarrassed by getting knocked out thats all. jim lampley is a big fan of of pacman. bring on mosley or mayweather n pacman will fight them both in the same day n still win, i'd rather watch philippines vs. mexico fights cause they bring the action all 12 rounds.
sikwit what is more dangerous is a w.w moving up to 154 to fight delahoya who weights almost 20 pounds more then you fight night.
clottey was embarassing. but what happened is what everyone knew would happen thats why he shouldnt have fought him in the first place. 400,000 ppv for the manny margarito fight. i hope he goes to 140 and fights bradley instead. no more fighting people who got there tail handed to them a fight or two b4 you face them. please no more.
and i dont think people are disrespecting mosley. mayweather manny is a big fight. might be the biggest fight ever money wise so thats the fight everyone wants to see. but everyone always says. IF MAYWEATHER GETS PAST MOSLEY. or MAYWEATHER HAS TO FIRST TAKE CARE OF BUISSNESS MAY 1st. it was like last year with all the colby labron commercials. no one was overlooking orlando. its just everyone wanted to see labron go against bryant
