Exclusive - Robert "the Ghost" Guerrero wants Manny Pacquiao Fight in the Bay Area! E-mail
World Champion Robert "the Ghost” Guerrero sat down for an exclusive interview with Liverpuncher.com to speak on his future, a dream fight with Manny Pacquiao in the Bay Area how he got the nickname "the Ghost".  Read on for more!

Liverpuncher.com: Here we are with the Bay Area's own World Champion Robert “the Ghost” Guerrero.  First of all how’s it feel to be fighting in your home town in the Bay Area?

R.Guerrero: I'm excited, I can’t wait, I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, not just for me but for all the boxing fans out here (in the Bay Area) and getting that fire lit!

Liverpuncher.com: How’s the new promotional company going for you so far?

R.Guerrero: It’s going great, they are already bringing HBO fights out to San Jose. It’s exciting and they are doing big things and that’s what I need.  2009 is going to be huge for me.

Liverpuncher.com: You were saying that you may be interested in a fight with Manny Pacquiao, the worlds #1 pound for pound fighter.  How would you stack up with him and do you think a fight like that would pack the house in the San Francisco Bay Area?

R.Guerrero: Oh yeah!  With the fans that follow me and also the Pacquiao fans that follow him right here in the Bay Area, he has a huge following out here, I think it would be a big fight!

Liverpuncher.com: What about your nickname “the Ghost.”  Where does it come from?

R.Guerrero: Being fast in the ring.  I hit guys, then I’m gone.  I’m here and I’m there.  Like a Ghost….people say they feel the shots but they never see them!

Liverpuncher.com: You fought at 126lbs most of your career, whats the reason for moving up to 130lbs?

R.Guerrero: I’m getting bigger, 126lbs was a hard weight to make….At 130lbs, I now feel stronger, faster and I can’t wait to get that title shot going.

Liverpuncher.com: Here at Liverpuncher.com we’re all about fight fan predictions, whats your prediction on the big Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton at 140lbs?

R.Guerrero: I have to go with Manny Pacquiao.  He’s a much quicker fighter, carries a lot of power and Ricky Hatton gets careless in there.  With Manny Pacquiao, you can’t get careless in there because of the power he carries.  I’m leaning towards Manny Pacquiao.

Liverpuncher.com: Thanks Champ, looking forward to seeing more of you in action and your fight on HBO March 7th!

R.Guerrero: Thanks, No problem.

Robert The Ghost Guerrero will be fighting in San Jose, March 7th. on Boxing After Dark.  Its HBO's first ever televised show in San Jose, CA!
