Fantasy League Rules and Scoring |
|
Welcome to Liverpuncher Fantasy Boxing, a FREE game where you get the chance to predict the outcome of upcoming fights and we automatically keep track of your prediction record and score!
The game is a Pick'em style format where each week, you make a prediction from among the list of real fights. You have the ability to change your prediction before fight time.
The challenge is not only to pick the winner of each fight, but also to predict in a way that produces the highest possible fantasy score.
The fantasy Liverpuncher Boxing League is a game where most major fights will be available in the league to predict on. Check the boxing schedule section for upcoming fights.
You can join the league anytime, or participate in the forums - its free.
How does scoring work?
A member can receive a maximum of 30 fantasy points in each fight. Members who predict the correct fighter receive 20 points.
10 Bonus points are awarded for members predicting the correct round. You may still earn 5 bonus points for predicting the correct "Period" the fight is stopped (see below for "Period" definitions). If you predict a correct decision win, this earns 2 bonus points. If you predict a correct draw outcome, this earns you a maximum 30 points. You earn a “KO” if your fighter wins in the round you selected.
New Rules and Prizes!
To keep the action going throughout the season, we will group the fights either 3 or 6 at a time. The person with the most points for that group of fights will win a prize. In the event of a tie, those people will be entered into a drawing and one person will be selected at random. To be eligable for the season championship and prizes each member must have a minimum of 40 posts in the forum during the duration of the season. If you have participated in previous seasons, you must still create a minimum of 40 posts during the active season to be eligable.
In the past seasons, league champions have won subscriptions to the Ring Magazine, and gift certificates to the Liverpuncher Boxing Shop.
Period Definitions
Fights are segmented into 3 periods, Early, Middle and Late. Predicting a fight in the correct Period earns 5 Bonus points. Early for a 12 round fight are rounds 1-4, Middle are rounds 5-8, Late are rounds 9-12. In a 10 round fight Late are only rounds 9-10.
Note
If a fight is officially canceled, or ruled a no contest, no one receives any points. All other scoring rules stay the same. If a fight is delayed or postponed, no points are awarded until the fight is completed.
