# Fight Date/Time Prediction
1 Paul Williams vs. Verno Phillips 2008-11-24 22:17:56 Paul Williams - Round 10
2 Cristobal Arreola vs. Travis Walker 2008-11-24 22:16:58 Cristobal Arreola - Round 5
3 Ricky Hatton vs. Paulie Malignaggi 2008-11-21 21:57:36 Ricky Hatton - Round 11
I orignally picked Paulie, but I'm going to try to make up some ground here and hope that the "Hatton in excellent shape" rumors are true, and he actually moves his head. He needs to be successful inside and avoiding the jab on the way in (more than he has lately). C'mon Ricky, I'll change my ringtone to Hatton Wonderland if you win this one!
4 David Haye vs. Monte Barret 2008-11-13 11:18:20 David Haye - Round 3
Couple of rounds to time him, then lets the speed go and crumbles Monte. These guys should weigh about the same at fight time, so it's a good pick for Haye, not taking on a heavy who can muscle him around the ring.
5 Jeff Lacy vs. Jermain Taylor 2008-11-10 13:59:27 Jermain Taylor - Round 9
Jermain is too active and fast for Lacy, who is looking for a place to lay down. Hopefully, Taylor can give him one. But he has to work the jab and not give Lacy a chance to be well rested coming into the championship rounds. Deep water is the place to go.
6 Joe Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones Jr. 2008-10-29 11:44:10 Joe Calzaghe - Decision
I don't like Joe much because of all of the slapping, and then acting like he busted the guy up; but I think he's got what it takes to win this fight. I think it will be a good scrap though. And if Roy drops the fool, it's a win-win for me.
7 Christian Mijares vs. Vic Darchinian 2008-10-29 11:38:21 Christian Mijares - Decision
Mijares on the easy decision. He's a tough guy, and he's a little bigger than Vic, who bends down too much to load on the power shots. Using his height adv. Mijares takes him to school, but can't finish him.
8 Lucian Bute vs. Librado Andrade 2008-10-13 20:04:13 Lucian Bute - Decision
Bute is a better boxer, but no one can KO Andrade short of Superman. If Bute avoids those curveball punches that Librado throws from crazy angles he walks with an easy decision. If not, it could make this fight much more difficult. I think he'll dodge enough to take this fight easy.
9 Samuel Peter vs. Vitali Klitschko 2008-10-01 08:47:12 Vitali Klitschko - Decision
Big Klit (wow, that's funny) probably will go down at some point early in the fight after absorbing a shot from Peter from the rust, but will eventually set the pace with a nail-driving jab, and will cruise to a pretty tough decision down the stretch.
10 Bernard Hopkins vs. Kelly Pavlik 2008-10-01 08:42:02 Kelly Pavlik - Round 10
Pavlik works on him in the early rounds, sapping his legs, and starts to land the right hand by round 8. Bernard is crafty and will hold on for awhile, but the pressure and punch output from Pavlik won't be stopped in this fight. Here's a unique prediction - Pavlik lands a jab/ right hand combination to put him away!
11 Antonio Tarver vs. Chad Dawson 2008-10-01 08:37:48 Chad Dawson - Round 10
Dawson throws punches with bad intentions, and I hope he lands some big ones on Tarver and sends him whining into retirement. Chad's hands are faster and is a better boxer, so I think he uses those advantages to negate Tarver's longer reach. POW! RIGHT IN THE KISSER!
12 Andre Berto vs. Steve Forbes 2008-09-18 10:03:41 Andre Berto - Round 11
I'd like to take this fight by decision, but Berto comes forward if he hurts a guy and is aggressive. If DLH was the same way, he could have KO'ed him too. Berto is too fast and has decent head movement - enough to get him through this fight.
13 Shane Mosley vs. Ricardo Mayorga 2008-09-18 09:58:08 Shane Mosley - Round 8
Mosely isn't a killer KO guy, but with his speed and power, combined with Mayorga's weight getting higher and higher, it's going to get real bad, real fast after the third or fourth round.
14 Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman 2008-09-10 08:32:25 Joan Guzman - Decision
Guzman will be smaller, but much faster, darting in and out with clean punches. Campbell will hang tough, but he won't find a way to clock Guzman. Eight rounds to four for Guzman.
15 Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao 2008-09-02 07:36:27 Oscar De La Hoya - Round 8
Oscar may not be the fighter he once was, but he still hits pretty hard and is relatively quick. This fight is the same as the one with Steve Forbes, only Manny has worse defense and more pop. I like the PacMan, but he's bitten off more than he can chew in this one. Golden Boy on a left hook to shake him up and then he puts him away. And then he screams and acts like he's just beaten the world, not a guy 25 pounds naturally lighter than him. If Manny pulls this off though, what an accomplishment for him.
16 Joel Casamayor vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 2008-08-17 08:58:23 Juan Manuel Marquez - Round 11
Marquez is a brilliant counterpuncher, who will use his faster hands to make Casa look bad. I think he offsets the size differential by being in killer shape and taking advantage of Joel down the stretch. Casa won't be able to get away from JMM once he starts coming forward, and he's getting KO'ed.
17 Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis 2008-08-17 08:56:21 Juan Diaz - Round 10
I think Diaz would have won against Campbell if not bothered by the cut. Katsidis seems to need more room to land his power shots, but Diaz will be right in his chest all night. Juan won't lose two in a row, but it will be a tough fight for both. Diaz catches him reaching and catches him five or six unanswered power shots, forcing the stoppage.
18 Rocky Juarez vs. Jorge Barrios 2008-08-14 09:15:39 Jorge Barrios - Decision
I've never been impressed by a single moment of Rocky's boxing career. Barrios did OK against Guzman, who is a pretty decent boxer himself. If he's the bigger man, I think he'll punish Rocky enough to take the decision.
19 Sergio Mora vs. Vernon Forrest 2008-08-04 08:26:45 Sergio Mora - Decision
Forrest looked so faded he lost interest in even trying to hit Mora last time. I don't like him, but I have to admit, Mora has great head movement and relatively quick hands. I don't want to, but I have pick Mora.
20 Joshua Clottey vs. Zab Judah 2008-07-29 10:30:40 Joshua Clottey - Round 12
Both of these guys seem to have fragile psyches, but the only difference is Clottey stays on his feet when he is distracted. If the BEST of Judah shows up, it will be a good fight though.
21 Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito 2008-07-13 18:04:24 Antonio Margarito - Round 8
Both of these guys hit like a truck, so it's going to be a great fight. Cotto was nearly Ko'ed by Torres on three days notice, and Shane doesn't have as much pop at the higher weights. Margarito however, took Cintron's best shots, smiled, and came right back inside. Cotto is a little more skilled, but Margarito is taller and has a longer reach, which should give him edge with the jab; and is bigger framed, which should favor him inside. Margarito leans on him all night and takes him out on a solid combo.
22 Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tony Thompson 2008-07-07 10:23:43 Wladimir Klitschko - Round 7
I think this could be a bit of a tough fight for the big K because the American is actually an opponent who is as big as he is. Eventually though, the Dr. lands he money punch right hand and follows it up with a uppercut to the body. Experience and hand speed wins the day.
23 Ricardo Torres vs. Kendall Holt 2008-07-01 22:03:09 Kendall Holt - Decision
I do not like the way Holt fights, turning his back and all the running. But, I thinks he wins this fight by making it as boring as possible. If Torres comes on strong, he should instantly clinch and force the ref to break them. Other than that, avoid trading with him, take advantage of the wild punches and jab him to the final bell. If he does that, he will win.
24 Manny Pacquiao vs. David Diaz 2008-06-25 09:20:36 Manny Pacquiao - Round 8
The common denominator is Morales, who Pac Man handled easily in the last fight, while Diaz just got past him. I've heard Manny isn't particularly focused and makes this fight harder on himself than it has to be. He comes out in the eighth with intensity and blasts Diaz out. Jab. Straight left to the chin. Left to the body. Ref stops it.
25 Cristobal Arreola vs. Chazz Witherspoon 2008-06-18 09:42:26 Cristobal Arreola - Round 10
OK, so I changed my reasoning, but not my pick to win. Should be a tough fight all the way around for both guys. Arreola just seems to have too much power for many people to stand and he throws fast, straight punches. I guess I'm just going to have to root for an exciting American heavyweight.
26 Andre Ward vs. Jerson Ravelo 2008-06-10 21:56:43 Andre Ward - Round 6
Ward adds another KO to his resume; he just too strong and has too much amateur experience. But I do think he leans forward too much and could be vulnerable to a guy with a strong, well-timed uppercut.
27 Arthur Abraham vs. Edison Miranda 2008-06-10 21:38:09 Arthur Abraham - Round 8
Once you get knocked out as brutally as Miranda was against Pavlik, a lot of fighters never really get their jaw back, yeah he starched Banks, but he wasn't any good. Abraham cracks that jaw a little more for him.
28 Andre Berto vs. Miki Rodriguez 2008-06-10 21:34:21 Andre Berto - Round 10
Berto is a tough, grind you down kind of guy; but I know nothing of Miki Rodriguez.
29 Carlos Quintana vs. Paul Williams 2008-05-28 10:02:22 Paul Williams - Decision
I think Paul needs to fight tall, use the jab to try to slow Quintana down, and for the sake of his career — come into the fight in shape! I think he squeezes out a tough decision.
30 Vernon Forrest vs. Sergio Mora 2008-05-27 09:40:20 Vernon Forrest - Decision
I still think Forrest is one of the toughest guys out there, but he won't get a big-name fight. Mora just stinks. If there is one thing Forrest seems to lack -it is that killer instinct and that desire to hurt someone.
